The Department of Surgery at the Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons of Columbia University is accepting applications for surgeons to qualify for the rank of Assistant Professor. Responsibilities include seeing patients in an outpatient office at one or more of our office locations and on‑call hospital duties. The scope of practice will include on‑call responsibilities and building an outpatient practice.
Responsibilities- See patients in outpatient office settings at one or more of our office locations.
- Perform on‑call duties at the hospital.
- Build and maintain an outpatient practice.
- Teach medical students, residents, and fellows.
- Participate in the academic and research missions of the University and the Department of Surgery.
Salary and academic rank will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and credentials. A board‑eligible surgeon would be appointed at the Instructor rank until board certification.
Qualifications- MD or DO.
- Completion of General Surgery Residency and Specialty Fellowship, if applicable.
- Completion of Cardiothoracic Residency and Specialty Fellowship, if applicable.
- Board certified or eligible by the American Board of Surgery, American Board of Thoracic Surgery, or equivalent.
