Medical Doctor (MD) – Skilled Nursing Facility

Location:

White Plains, NY – Skilled nursing facility serving veterans and dependents.

Base pay range $/yr – $/yr

Responsibilities

• Independently diagnose, treat, prescribe, and provide general medical care and treatment services in a 252‑bed skilled nursing facility.
• Provide medical leadership and supervision in collaboration with Family Nurse Practitioners to ensure quality health care services and compliance with clinical, statutory, and regulatory standards.
• See residents routinely, document visits, collaborate with interdisciplinary care team, perform admissions, and attend care team reviews.
• Advance and maintain resident care plans and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications

• Licensed to practice medicine in New York State with current registration.
• One year of post‑licensure medical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Board certified in internal medicine, family medicine, or geriatric medicine with skilled nursing facility experience.
• DEA license and proficiency with EMR clinical documentation and ordering systems.

This position is part of the NY HELPS program, which may be filled via a non‑competitive appointment. Employees may later be converted to competitive status. The filling of this position is contingent upon budget waiver approval.
