Job Title & CompensationJob Title: Jr. Designer Women/Men’s Footwear
Compensation: $65-85K
- Sketch (hand sketch & illustrator) and create specs and tech packs.
- Design forecasting and research.
- Shop for inspirational designs and competitive landscape each season.
- Help build line from conceptual sketches to final approved prototypes.
- Help create and execute a competitive product line that supports the brands’ strategic objectives, quality components, and trend concepts.
- Gather inspiration for new season design.
- Communicate daily with overseas offices regarding the status of the product and approvals.
- Maintain and follow a time & action calendar.
- Track development of confirmations and update spec sheets as needed.
- Pull swipes/samples to assist in line development.
- Help develop and organize colors & materials for the season.
- Photograph/log/store all original samples.
- Create & maintain material binder for the season.
- Render designs for presentation.
- Work with design team to create moods for the season (color palettes, prints, materials, etc.).
- Participate in proto corrections.
- 3-4 years of professional footwear design experience
- Experience in Athletics/Athleisure footwear experience a plus
- Must be able to sketch technical footwear drawings.
- Illustrator and Photoshop required.
- Knowledge of synthetic materials and leathers.
- Knowledge of development process and working with overseas factories and customers preferred.
- Technically competent with software programs, Excel/Outlook.
