Aster AI is partnering with a Series C Travel Startup that is scaling their design team.
This Senior Product Designer opening is different. A NYC startup is rebuilding a legacy industry with a platform that turns passionate entrepreneurs into thriving advisory businesses – and they need a designer who can own messy, high‑impact problems from 0→1.
About the CompanyThey're rebuilding a legacy industry from the ground up with a modern, tech‑enabled platform that equips passionate entrepreneurs with everything they need to launch and scale their own advisory businesses. Their core users are independent advisors, and their products handle everything from onboarding and education to CRM, bookings, payments, and beautifully crafted client experiences.
Design isn't a support function there. It's at the center of how they're reinventing a massive market opportunity.
The roleThey're looking for a Senior Product Designer to join their product team in NYC and own a substantial slice of their product surface – from dense, workflow‑heavy tooling for advisors to polished, consumer‑grade client experiences.
You'll work in a classic product pod (PM, EM, engineers, design) and be expected to drive outcomes end‑to‑end: clarifying the problem, shaping the solution, shipping high‑quality work, and helping the team learn.
This is 4‑days a week in office in their downtown NYC office. They're intentionally building a high‑bandwidth, collaborative environment where you can sit next to your partners in PM and engineering – and even the advisors you're designing for.
What you'll do- Lead the design of new features and product areas from discovery through polished delivery (research, flows, interaction design, visual design, and QA).
- Move comfortably between complex SaaS‑like workflows (tables, states, edge cases) and expressive consumer/client experiences.
- Contribute to and evolve their design system so they can ship high‑quality work faster and more consistently.
- Partner closely with PM and engineering to define problems, shape roadmaps, and make sensible trade‑offs between quality, speed, and impact.
- Talk directly with advisors and clients, run scrappy research and testing, and turn insights into clear product decisions.
- Communicate your work with strong storytelling – in Figma, in docs, and in the room – surfacing assumptions and aligning stakeholders around the "why."
- You have 5+ years of product design experience, with meaningful time embedded in product teams at a high‑bar tech or product company.
- You've shipped SaaS or internal tools, and ideally also have experience with consumer or brand‑forward products.
- You're comfortable with 0→1 work and messy problem spaces, not just incremental UI tweaks.
- You sweat the details: flows, states, micro‑interactions, empty states, and edge cases matter to you.
- You communicate clearly, give and receive feedback well, and can lead a room through your thinking without hiding behind polished screens.
- You care about business impact and user outcomes as much as craft – you can explain how your work moved the needle, not just what it looked like.
