Chief Objectives of This Position
The Part‑Time Build Lead role requires a high level of specialized expertise and skill in maintaining established quality and accuracy standards. The Build Lead works directly with internal and external stakeholders to plan and execute builds and installs of sets, activations, vignettes, props, objects of art, and environments that enhance the quality of work for which we are known. While the pace of the work is faster than average, quality is never compromised.
The focus of communication and organizational relationships is based on technical expertise, which is essential. Build Leads must effectively demonstrate critical thinking and organizational skills, and have meticulous attention to detail. The Build Lead will maintain a positive attitude that promotes teamwork within the Company and a favorable image of the Company.
Director of Creative Services
Reporting Responsibility:
Creative Services Project Managers & the Director of Creative Services
- Scenic Carpentry and Painting
- Receive and organize material orders
- Create and manage accurate Production Schedules tailored to each specific project
- Source materials, props, and supplies
- Work with Project Managers to ensure all builds are true to the design, installed efficiently, and meet safety requirements.
- Oversee the upskilling and development of the scenic team
- You must be comfortable working within a collaborative, optimistic, and imaginative team and be able to deliver creative solutions promptly in a fast‑paced environment.
- Shop and client site work required
- Fabrication with a variety of materials, e.g., Wood, Metal, Plastic, Fabrics, etc
- Provide suggestions to improve efficiency
- General knowledge of AV and Event Staging
- Leadership of small‑to‑medium‑sized groups
- Accountability for great results in high‑pressure situations
- Excellent listener and communicator (Verbal and written)
- Excellent time management and ability to prevent and/or minimize OT
- Excellent Resource management and ability to prevent and/or minimize material waste
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Strong organizational skills with close attention to detail
- Proficiency with the use of all shop equipment and tools
- Ability to multitask and keep the team focused on critical objectives
- Ability to read and follow directions, blueprints/schematics, and renderings or sketches
- Ideally, have a working knowledge of:
- Google Office Suite
- Flex Rental Solutions
- Required 3+ years of experience in scenic, carpentry, or related field
- A strong desire to learn and grow with the company
