About the RoleOur Forever 21 division is seeking a Technical Design Lead to support and elevate the technical development of our apparel from concept through production. This role requires an experienced technical design professional with strong leadership abilities, deep product knowledge, and a commitment to delivering high‑quality garments that meet Forever 21’s fit, construction, and brand standards.
What You'll Do- Provide technical expertise on garment specifications, pattern corrections, construction details, and production readiness.
- Lead fit sessions and ensure fit, balance, and garment construction are optimized across categories.
- Partner closely with overseas vendors to align on development, fit approvals, and construction requirements from proto to production.
- Work cross‑functionally with Design and Product Development to ensure specifications are both creative and executable at scale.
- Create and maintain detailed technical packages that meet Forever 21 standards.
- Support quality benchmarks and ensure final production meets brand expectations.
- Recommend improvements in workflow, fit processes, margin opportunities, and development efficiency.
- Associate’s degree in Fashion Design, Technical Design, or related field (Bachelor’s preferred).
- 5–10 years of experience in technical design.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong knowledge of pattern making, garment construction, fit evaluation, and production processes.
- Experience collaborating with global vendors and cross‑functional teams.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and passionate about garment fit and construction in a fast‑paced environment.
