We’re hiring a Senior Marketing & Brand Designer to help scale Lightning AI’s brand and marketing output as the company grows. This role focuses on building and executing clear, consistent, high-quality design across our website, campaigns, sales materials, events, video, and internal assets.
You’ll work across brand systems and execution—turning complex technical ideas into simple, confident visuals and narratives. This is a hands-on role for a senior designer who can operate independently, collaborate closely with Marketing, Product, and Sales, and raise the quality bar across everything we ship.
You’ll join the Design team and report to the Chief Design Officer. This is a hybrid role based in either our New York City or San Francisco office with in-office requirements of 2 days per week. The salary range for this role is $160,000-$200,000.
What You’ll Do- Own and execute brand, web, and marketing design across campaigns, product launches, events, and sales enablement.
- Build and evolve Lightning AI’s design system, visual library, brand assets, and templates to support scale and consistency.
- Partner closely with Product, Marketing and Sales to deliver high-quality assets for web, social, ads, events, decks, and collateral.
- Design wireframes, mockups, and prototypes for marketing and product surfaces.
- Support light motion, animation, and video work (2D motion, kinetic type, basic editing and color correction).
- Design limited-run company swag and internal assets tied to launches, milestones, and events.
- Ensure visual consistency across all external and internal touchpoints as the company evolves post-merger.
- Balance speed and quality—ship work quickly without lowering standards.
- 6+ years of experience in brand, marketing, or product design at a high-growth SaaS, developer tools, or technical platform company.
- A strong portfolio showing end-to-end work: brand systems, campaigns, web, and sales enablement—not just one-off visuals.
- Experience designing for technical audiences (developers, ML engineers, researchers) and enterprise buyers.
- Proven ability to simplify complex ideas into clear, effective design and storytelling.
- Deep experience building and maintaining design systems, templates, and brand guidelines.
- Comfort working cross-functionally with Marketing, Product, Sales, and Leadership.
- Ability to work with incomplete inputs, make decisions, and iterate quickly.
- Proficiency in Figma; strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.
- Strong visual judgment, attention to detail, and clarity of taste.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to explain design decisions.
- Bonus: experience with AI/ML products, infrastructure platforms, or open-source communities.
- Bonus: experience supporting rebrands, mergers, or evolving brand narratives.
