The OpportunityWe are seeking an Interior Design Coordinator to support the execution of approved design direction across our furnished apartment portfolio. This is an on-site, hands-on role ideal for a design-trained professional who enjoys translating design vision into real, livable spaces and seeing projects through from planning to on-site execution.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Executive Vice President of Design and cross-functional partners to bring apartments to life. For new apartment setups, you will translate an approved wallpaper or anchor design selection into a complete, cohesive interior scheme, including furniture, rugs, artwork, and accessories sourced from approved vendors. You will prepare layouts and furnishing plans for review and approval, then coordinate ordering and on-site setup once approved.
This role is well-suited for someone who enjoys execution, coordination, and problem-solving in a fast-paced, hospitality-driven environment and who takes pride in delivering high-quality, move-in-ready spaces.
What You Will Do- Translate approved design direction into complete apartment layouts and furnishing schemes.
- Develop coordinating color palettes and select furniture, rugs, artwork, lighting, and accessories from approved vendor assortments.
- Produce accurate AutoCAD floor plans following established space and layout guidelines.
- Prepare and present layouts, furnishing selections, and specifications for design leadership review and approval prior to ordering.
- Coordinate furniture placement, styling, and final setup to ensure apartments are fully furnished and move-in ready.
- Conduct on-site walkthroughs to verify layout accuracy, quality, and adherence to approved plans.
- Support apartment upgrades, refreshes, and preparation for professional photography.
- Manage furniture requisitions, inventory par levels, ordering, and coordination with warehouse and operations teams.
- Support apartment deconstructs by assessing items for reuse, redeployment, donation, or disposal.
- Manage design- and furniture-related service requests, including replacing broken items and sourcing additional furnishings.
- Track projects, timelines, and deliverables using Asana.
- Maintain accurate documentation in Salesforce, WMS, and shared systems.
- Travel frequently to apartment locations throughout New York City and attend industry events such as the High Point Furniture Market as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a related field preferred.
- 2 to 4 years of professional experience supporting or executing interior design projects in residential, hospitality, or furnished environments.
- Strong ability to interpret design direction and assemble cohesive interior schemes.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD required.
- Experience using Asana or similar project management tools preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and Microsoft Teams.
- Experience with Salesforce, WMS, or similar systems preferred.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
- Comfortable managing multiple projects in a fast-paced, on-site environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Comfortable with hands-on work, on-site execution, and frequent NYC travel.
- Flexibility to support occasional evenings or weekends as business needs require.
