Overview
Heitler Houstoun Architects (HHA) is an award-winning, Manhattan-based architecture and interior design studio seeking curious, motivated Junior Architects to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for emerging designers who are eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a highly collaborative, design-driven practice.
We are looking for candidates with 0-2 years of post-graduate professional experience (5-year
B.Arch or M.Arch), who are currently based in the New York City area or able to relocate in the near term.
You are intellectually curious, detail-oriented, and excited to work in a fast-paced studio environment where collaboration, mentorship, and design excellence are core values. You take initiative, communicate clearly, and enjoy being involved in all aspects of the architectural process.
What You’ll DoAs a Junior Architect at HHA, you will support projects from early design through construction, gaining hands-on experience across a wide range of project types and scales.
Key skills and interests include:
Documentation & Modeling
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in AutoCAD
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Sketch Up or Rhino
Revit proficiency a plus
Presentation & Visualization
Ability to translate concepts, discussions, and narratives into clear, compelling presentations
Experience with rendering, material mapping, and post-production graphics
Research & Technical Growth
Comfort independently researching unfamiliar topics and codes
Strong problem-solving skills and a self-directed learning mindset
Basic familiarity with building codes and accessibility standards is helpful, but not required
Communication & Collaboration
Ability to work effectively within a structured yet highly creative team
Strong organizational skills and a proactive, collaborative attitude
