Architect, CAD​/ AutoCAD​/ Mechanical Design

Stoddard Architecture is growing and seeking an Architect with strong residential experience to join a design-focused, collaborative practice in Glen Head, NY. This role offers hands-on involvement in projects from start to finish, meaningful responsibility, and the opportunity to grow with the firm. Anticipated start date:
January 2026.

• Work on single-family residential projects from inception through completion
• Produce accurate, buildable AutoCAD construction documents (xref-based workflow)
• Coordinate with structural, civil, MEP, landscape, and interiors consultants
• Prepare and submit municipal filings with local villages and towns
• Measure existing conditions on site
• Observe construction in the field, gaining direct exposure to how drawings translate into built work
• Participate in client coordination
• Offer thoughtful design input when appropriate
• Support general office needs; organization and reliability are essential

• Minimum 3–5 years of single-family residential experience (5–10+ preferred; more is a bonus)
• Strong understanding of typical residential wood-frame construction, reinforced concrete foundations, and steel integration
• Ability to produce thorough, accurate construction documents and details
• Proficiency in AutoCAD;
  Revit experience is a plus
• Interior architectural detailing / interior design capability is a plus
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Local candidate with a car for site visits, meetings, and municipal hearings
• Someone proactive, detail-driven, and interested in long-term growth with a small practice
