Our New York office is looking for an Intermediate Designer who will will work closely with creative directors, project manager, designers, and clients across a range of built environment projects including signage, way finding, and experiential graphic design (EGD).
Responsibilities
- Ideate, conceptualize, detail design and implement signage, experiential design, and branding projects;
- Contribute and nurture a collaborative design studio environment;
- Encourage a vibrant and enthusiastic design office;
- Assist in the development of, and participate in internal and external design workshops;
- Working with the senior team to create and develop strategies, narratives and storytelling components in the conceptual design phase;
- Develop related design documentation and presentations for all phases of a project;
- Create conceptual renderings, artwork and design intent specifications;
- Support the project team in reviewing shop drawing submittals, conducting site visits and preparing punch lists;
- Stay abreast of and explore the use of new materials and production methods;
- Review internal deliverables and provide feedback to junior team members;
- Provide necessary client liaison support throughout all stages of the project, including project stakeholder engagements and presentation of project deliverables and materials;
- Provide necessary support to senior staff and project managers, and mentoring to junior team members;
- Ensure compliance with defined goals and design intent for projects and Entro standards;
- Meet with senior team to understand project needs including budgeting, timing and project expectations;
- Ensure Entro protocols and procedures are followed on all projects by the entire team in a timely manner (timesheets, expenses, etc.)
Qualifications
- College diploma or equivalent degree in graphic design or a similar field;
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years professional experience; a portfolio that demonstrates experience with various aspects of signage design work is a plus;
- Previous experience in experiential graphic design, architecture, or industrial design firm setting;
- Knowledge of signage and way finding production techniques is an asset;
- Computer literacy and good working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects), and Microsoft Office;
- Knowledge of Revit, Sketch Up, Adobe Substance or equivalent 3D modelling software is an asset;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Initiative and desire to learn;
- Detail-oriented and ability to adapt to changing priorities;
- Strong organizational, time management and problem-solving skills
