Marvel seeks an Intermediate Landscape Architectural Designer to join our teams in the New York, NY or Richmond, VA office. The candidate will work closely with Licensed Landscape Architects and a multidisciplinary design team to research, plan, design, and undertake construction administration tasks.

Candidates should have a minimum of five years of professional experience in Landscape Architecture, with a focus on iterative site design, technical documentation, and interest in project management. We are looking for a well‑rounded, detail‑oriented designer who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, collaborates openly, and communicates effectively. The ideal candidate should be comfortable developing projects from concept through construction, working with clients, and coordinating with other disciplines across a variety of scales.

This position requires a high level of design expertise, supporting Project Landscape Architect in client interface and guiding Junior Designers through all phases of the design process, from schematic design to construction administration.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited school is required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working in a Landscape Architecture practice.
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, Rhino, Lumion, Enscape and Adobe Creative Cloud programs such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated strong organization and time‑management skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Demonstrated skill and knowledge across a variety of project types.
  • Demonstrated design and technical experience in site planning, layout, grading, paving, furnishing and planting design, and assembling construction document sets.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating with consultants and working effectively within a design team.

Responsibilities include developing designs through all project phases; supporting project management and team coordination; participating in design proposals, and assisting with the preparation of written and graphic materials for potential clients.
