QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/

Skills Required:

Dentist with NYS license.

Graduate from an accredited dental school with a DDS or DMD degree School accredited by the American Association of Dental Education.

Current DEA registration for the purpose of writing prescriptions

As applicable, the individual has training/competency in attending to the special needs and/or behaviors appropriate to the age of patients for which care is being provided.

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Provides professional dental services at The Alice Hyde Medical Center;
Performs related duties as required.

Position Specific Contributions:

Provides high quality care to patients in the Dental Clinic as set forth in the scope of services consistent with the standards set by JCAHO, NYSDOH, and guidelines established by Alice Hyde Medical Center.

Provides accurate and timely documentation to ensure corporate compliance and timely billing of claims.

Possess an understanding of the unique physiological, emotional, and cognitive characteristics of the different developmental stages in the care of each patient.

Possess thorough knowledge of principles and practices of modern dentistry and prevention of dental diseases.

Familiar with reporting risk management issues to the Director.

Maintains continuing medical educations requirements according to the Alice Hyde Medical Staff bylaws.

Participates in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.

Assists Director with comprehensive review on all patient/family complaints and appropriate follow-up with employees.

Maintains professional knowledge base, through participation of continuing education.

Commitment toward improving patient care, customer satisfaction and exceeding customer expectations.

Is flexible and creative in dealing with challenges and changes, for patients, co-workers and the health care delivery.

Other duties as assigned.
