Reporting to the Director of Clinical Operations, the Dental Assistant is responsible for providing first‑in‑class service to patients, residents, faculty, and all other Columbia personnel.

• Assist dental providers in provision of dental care to patients by using four‑handed dentistry, aiding in preparation and maintenance of materials, instruments and equipment.
• Maintain dental supply and material levels within the department, ensuring inventory levels are at par, disposing of expired supplies, and ordering/dispensing supplies as needed.
• Maintain dental/surgical equipment by reporting major malfunctions to the technical team; provide cross coverage for dental assistant module areas and radiology.
• Maintain student and patient records. Pour/mix models.
• Perform administrative functions, as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education, training and experience; and one year of related experience preferred.
• Formal training in four‑handed dentistry, sit‑down dental assisting, and six months of related experience.

• Experience with dental x‑rays; graduation from a NY State approved dental assistant program.
• Bi‑lingual (Spanish/English) including translation.
• BLS certification.
