Reports To: Rentals Supervisor / Guest Services Manager
Location: Swain Resort – Swain, NY
Status: Seasonal / Full-Time / Part-Time (depending on needs)
Pay Rate Range: $16-$17.50
Position Summary
The Rentals Cashier at Swain Resort is responsible for greeting guests, completing rental transactions, and ensuring a smooth and efficient experience for all guests renting ski or snowboard equipment. This position serves as the first point of contact in the Rentals Department and plays an important role in providing excellent customer service and accurate sales processing.
- Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner upon arrival to the Rentals area.
- Process all rental transactions quickly and accurately using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Collect and verify guest information for rental forms and waivers.
- Handle cash, credit, and gift card payments, balancing drawers accurately at the end of each shift.
- Communicate clearly with rental technicians to ensure a smooth guest flow from payment to equipment fitting.
- Answer guest questions about rental packages, helmet use, and general resort information.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization at the cashier counter and waiting areas.
- Restock and organize rental forms, wristbands, and supplies as needed.
- Follow all safety, liability, and confidentiality procedures.
- Assist the Rentals team with other tasks as needed during busy periods.
Qualifications
- Previous cashier, retail, or customer service experience preferred.
- Strong communication and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in handling transactions and guest information.
- Friendly, professional, and team-oriented attitude.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs.
- Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and peak resort times.
