What To Expect:

Each DoStuff content intern starts their day focused on content, editorial accuracy, and audience growth. With a steady flow of events, venues, and cultural happenings across the city, we rely on interns to help keep our website, newsletter, and social channels fresh, relevant, and engaging. DoStuff interns will be involved in many aspects of content management, editorial planning, and digital audience development.

This internship role will require an ambitious candidate with strong attention to detail and a passion for storytelling. The candidate should be able to think creatively about content opportunities, audience interests, and digital engagement while also attending shows and events around town. Interns have the opportunity to network and make a variety of exciting and useful contacts ativity, new ideas, and opinions are always welcome.

Responsibilities:
  • Content management including entering events, happy hours, and daily specials from various sources such as newsletters, venue websites, and event calendars; fixing and adding events, artists, and venues; managing queues; and assisting with front-page content management.
  • Developing ideas and concepts to increase impressions and audience engagement on the DoStuff website, in the daily newsletter, and across social media platforms.
  • Creating content that serves the needs and interests of the current DoStuff audience while also reaching new niche audiences through search engine optimization.
  • Creatively brainstorming and executing additional content ideas, giveaways, and opportunities that would be of interest to the DoStuff community and help increase engagement and/or registration.
Requirements:
  • Able to work a minimum of 10 hours per week (hybrid schedule).
  • Must be located within an active DoStuff market.
  • Strong research and organizational skills for lead generation and development.
  • Self-motivated—ability to be focused, get the job done, and take initiative when assigned tasks are completed.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset—able to think outside the box for creative ideas and ways DoStuff can work with other companies to generate attention, audience growth, brand awareness, and sales/revenue.
  • Ability to stay calm in high-pressure environments.
  • Ability to grow a deep understanding of the DoStuff product—how and why it’s beneficial whether speaking with clients or users.
  • Confident, creative thinker—ability to speak up and contribute in a team environment.
  • Marketing, sales, or communications experience or prior coursework is a plus.
Additional Skills Needed:
  • Strong understanding of Facebook, Instagram, Twitter (X), and Tik Tok with current, active profiles.
  • Strong, proven writing skills with examples; specifically familiar with event previews, reviews, and blogging in general.
  • Strong focus, ability to work quickly and efficiently, and an eye for detail and organization.
  • Previous knowledge of search engine optimization.
  • Strong understanding of marketing and/or digital audience engagement.
