Job Summary:
The Associate Social Media Editor is responsible for creating and executing engaging social media content to build and grow audiences for a product-focused brand initiative. This role focuses heavily on short-form video production and social-first storytelling, with the goal of driving engagement and converting followers into loyal users.
The position involves writing, filming, starring in, and editing content across platforms such as Instagram, Tik Tok, and Facebook. The role collaborates closely with creative, design, and marketing teams to support integrated campaigns and maintain a consistent brand voice. This is a hybrid work position.
Key Responsibilities- Pitch, script, shoot, and edit short-form video content for social platforms
- Execute content strategy across Instagram, Tik Tok, Facebook, and emerging formats
- Generate original content ideas and participate in brainstorming sessions
- Write compelling hooks and captions aligned with brand voice
- Produce additional content formats including graphics, carousels, GIFs, and Stories
- Maintain weekly and monthly editorial calendars and prepare content for key marketing moments
- Stay current on social trends, algorithm updates, and platform changes
- Attend events and activations to capture social content as needed
- Support community management by engaging with followers and responding to comments
- Monitor brand-related conversations across social channels
- Conduct strategic research to inform content decisions and performance optimization
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent training and experience - Experience:
At least 2 years of experience as a social media editor or content creator - Skills & Abilities:
- Proficiency with Tik Tok, Instagram, and emerging social platforms
- Experience with scheduling and analytics tools
- Skilled in video editing tools such as Cap Cut or similar platforms
- Comfortable appearing on camera and creating video content
- Strong communication skills with an understanding of tone and voice
- Highly organized and capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Passion for content creation, digital culture, and shopping
