SUMMARY

The National Hockey League is looking for our next class of interns to join our 2026 Summer Internship Program. The Player Relations Intern will assist remotely and on site at Stanley Cup Final with media operations including press box set up, press conference room staffing and media check in. They will also assist on site at NHL Awards/Draft with media operations including staff media riser, interview room and draftee escort.

Additionally, they will assist in player coordination for European Player Media Tour, Player Orientation and North American Player Media Tour, which would include editing, proofing, and drafting player itineraries as well as reviewing player travel/hotel accommodations. The intern will also assist in creating event book summaries for  events, including Global Series, Winter Classic, Stadium Series, Stanley Cup Playoffs, and Awards/Draft.

This role may require international travel; a valid passport is necessary if a Canadian team plays in the Stanley Cup finals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist on site at Stanley Cup Final with media operations including press box set up, press conference room staffing and media check in.
  • Assist on site at NHL Awards/Draft with media operations including staff media riser, interview room and draftee escort.

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge Areas/Experience (Required)

  • Organizational skills – ability to manage multiple tasks, maintain documentation, and assist with project planning.
  • Professionalism.
  • Proficiency in handling confidential information.

Preferred

  • Background in Sports Marketing, Journalism, or Public Relations.

Education/Certifications

  • Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student in an accredited university/college pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Candidates should be entering their junior or senior year of undergraduate study.

PAYMENT

All of our internships are paid at $20/hour. We do not offer school credit.
