Job Overview

Haymarket Media, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Editor (Intern) to join the Rare Disease Advisor and Companion team. Both remote and in‑person candidates will be considered for this role, which is located in our New York City office, with three days on‑site (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and a team flex day) and two days remote for in‑office interns.

Responsibilities
  • Review designated Resource Pages on the RDA site, conduct research on relevant recent developments, and update the pages as needed
  • Edit other types of RDA articles and quizzes, prepare them for publication, and publish them on the site
  • Create patient‑friendly glossaries of terms relevant to diseases covered by the Companion brands
  • Assist with the final approval of email newsletters and included content before deployment
  • Work with the RDA and Companion teams to update and maintain various spreadsheets
Skills and Requirements
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, communications, or a related discipline
  • The ability to produce clean, concise, clear, and accurate editorial content
  • Experience working in Word Press or another content management system
  • Knowledge of current search engine optimization best practices
  • Capable of handling multiple simultaneous projects and adhering to deadlines
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience as a strong team player who can independently follow through on assigned tasks
  • Knowledge of AMA style is preferred
  • Experience working with medical or health content, or content for another specialized audience, is a plus
