START DATE: Immediately upon hire
Position SummaryThe Visual Designer crafts compelling visual storytelling materials, from promotional assets to brochures to web and social media graphics, that bring Shall See Theater’s mission, narratives, and productions to vivid life. Work closely with the Director of Marketing to uphold brand integrity across all visual touchpoints.
Key ResponsibilitiesDesign & Asset Production
Design print and digital materials including but not limited to posters, playbills, email headers, social graphics, and web banners.
Produce motion assets such as animated GIFs, short video clips, or motion design for digital channels.
Cross-Platform Consistency
Ensure design consistency from stage to screen—spanning social media, website, email, and printed collateral.
Collaborate with Branding Manager to maintain alignment with established visual identity guidelines.
Coordinate production-ready files and manage print specifications, file prep, dielines, color profiles.
Liaise with external vendors and printers, ensuring timelines, quality, and budget compliance.
Digital & Social Integration
Create platform-optimized visual assets and templates tailored to each digital channel.
Work with the Digital Strategy Manager to ensure visual formats support engagement and conversion objectives.
Process & Asset Management
Maintain an organized asset library with version control and naming standards.
Assist in establishing workflows for design requests, approvals, and asset distribution.
Partner with Marketing, Artistic, Development, and Education teams to conceptualize visuals for campaigns and institutional initiatives.
Contribute creative ideas in brainstorming sessions and collaborative strategy meetings.
QualificationsFluent in Mandarin Chinese and English.
2–3 years of visual or graphic design experience in nonprofit arts, theater, or cultural organizations and/or productions.
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and/or other professional design tools.
Good taste.
Strong layout, typography, and composition skills.
Basic experience with motion graphics or animation tools.
Knowledge of print production and digital formatting best practices.
Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects to deadline.
Excellent communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Passion for theater and cultural storytelling, especially East Asian perspectives.
