This position involves responsibility for planning and carrying out a variety of public relations activities. The work requires imagination and a demonstrated ability to write public relations type material and to visually present informational materials. The position requires good knowledge of publicity principles and methods; good organizational ability; skill in the performance of public relations activities; good written communication skills; possession of good verbal and communication skills;
working knowledge of educational services; demonstrated skill in the utilization of desktop publishing software; ability to effectively communicate with large groups; ability to work well with students and staff; creativity; initiative and resourcefulness; physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.
TYPICAL WORK
ACTIVITIES:

- Provides publicity for the district to the community at large;
- Serves as the media liaison;
- Travels to schools to cover events (includes taking photos);
- Uses various publishing software to create newsletters, calendars, catalogs, brochures, flyers and other promotional literature, and be required to write copy;
- Prepares public statements and correspondence for the media and general public;
- Coordinates media communications;
- Acts as the District's spokesperson;
