Position DescriptionWorking under the supervision of the Design Director, this role will support the designers working on Adrianna Papell Sportswear Design Team
. The Design Assistant will be assisting in preliminary design research, creating tech packs, and assembling presentation boards and materials for our Women s Sportswear and Better Separates Collections
. The ideal candidate is responsible for keeping vendors on task for sourcing and technique development, monitoring samples and must be able to manage time effectively to keep pace with fast-paced design calendar.
- Support Designers with the Adrianna Papell Sportswear Collections.
- Assist Designers in production approvals, lab dips and bulk swatches.
- Assist Design Team with creating Tech Packs.
- Flat sketching (either by hand or Illustrator).
- Assist in fabric development for Design Team.
- Create design sheets and compile relevant style & fabric information.
- Communicate with factories overseas on sample development.
- Assist in samples and design concepts for each collection season.
- Research trends.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design.
- Recent graduate or 1 year work experience, and/or internship experience (knit and woven women's apparel preferred).
- Strong fashion and creative senses, keen trend awareness.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Excel, Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator, and a web-based PLM and ERP programs;
Blue Cherry is a plus. - Basic knowledge of garment construction, pattern making, silhouettes, color concept, and fabrics.
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines; must be highly-detail oriented, creative, and be a team player.

Salary Range: $48,000-$50,000 based on applicant's experience
