Overview

Fox Weather is a 24/7 ad-supported streaming service operated by FOX News Media. Launched in October 2021, the platform provides local, regional and national weather reporting with a team of meteorologists and resources that power live programming and digital content on , the FOX Weather app, and FOX’s Connected TV apps.

FOX Weather is looking for a Producer to join our Content Core team in New York City. The Content Core drives FOX Weather’s content strategy to power live programming, digital articles, videos on  and the FOX Weather app, and content across social platforms. You love to hunt for original or exclusive stories and advance stories in the weather news beat 24/7.

You have a team-first mentality and a dedicated passion for news to be successful in this position.

• Produce exclusive and original news to be used in various deliverables on FOX Weather stream, , and across distribution platforms.

• Hunt and clear user-generated content (UGC) for FOX Weather across platforms.

• Chase and verify news on and off the record for FOX Weather in peacetime and active weather situations.

• Pitch ideas for stories, emphasizing original reporting and weather-adjacent content.

• Write stories for , post to FOX Weather social platforms and edit video as needed.

• Consistently meet deadlines and productivity goals.

• Monitor analytics to inform strategic content decisions.

• Support all functions of FOX Weather’s Content Core, assisting with field logistics, ingestion requests, and internal and external coordination as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field preferred.

• At least 4 years of experience in journalism, in digital outlets, traditional linear newsrooms, or on an assignment desk.

• Excellent news judgment, strong communication skills and a collaborative attitude.

• Ability to use content management, news gathering, social media and collaboration tools such as Airtable, Jira, Wordpress, WSI graphics, among others.

• Extensive knowledge of the news cycle.

• Social media savviness.

• Passion for weather news.

• Ability to work under deadline and the pressures of a fast-paced newsroom.

• Willingness to work weekends, nights or early mornings.

Pay for this role is $67,000.00–$93,000.00 annually, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience and location. The role is eligible for benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits as outlined in applicable plan documents. Benefits for union-represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
