We are seeking an excellent writer, storyteller and news connoisseur who can build strong relationships with media, operate in a fast-paced environment and act as a trusted communications partner.

The Impact:

  • Work with our spokespeople to proactively seek earned media placements including op-eds, feature placements and broadcast opportunities.
  • Build relationships with local and regional reporters through proactive outreach.
  • Show general creativity and innovativeness in engaging with media including determining the best channel to use for any kind of messaging – keen eye on developing new channels as needed.
  • Communicate with a range of stakeholders in a respectful and thoughtful manner, and don’t shy away from challenges.
  • Assist team colleagues with crisis communications aimed at protecting the division’s reputation, including drafting messaging and media training.
  • Partner with team colleagues to collate intelligence on media share of voice and other metrics.
  • Be comfortable working within a matrix environment and be willing to pitch in and provide support when needed for other team members.
  • Work within a team across multiple time zones and, sometimes, under tight deadlines.
  • Follow directions, escalate challenges and produce finished projects that meet or exceed expectations.
