Bloomberg has a rare opportunity for a motivated, hardworking Part-Time Producer to launch a weekend morning news program on Bloomberg Television & Radio. The ideal candidate for this role will have experience line producing, booking guests, writing scripts, creating graphics, and collaborating across platforms. They will also have a working knowledge of TV and radio operations, including control room experience, preparing graphics and video for broadcast, mixing and editing digital audio, and directing anchors.
This weekend show will air live on both video and audio platforms, requiring a unique skillset that is adaptable and able to work across a variety of mediums. Responsibilities include pre-production of video, graphic and audio elements, booking guests, directing on-screen content in a live control room, and editing video and audio for social media and on-demand consumption. Part-Time Producers are expected to create and maintain rundowns, build graphic elements that add editorial value, and write headlines that support and highlight on-screen content.
- Identify and book high-profile guests
- Create and edit broadcast scripts
- Write accurate, compelling headlines under tight deadlines
- Communicate and coordinate with reporters across the newsroom
- Direct show anchors, audio engineers, video ops and producers from the control room
- Write and produce original packages and podcasts
- Build and maintain rundowns with related video and graphic elements
- Create a variety of graphics, including charts, headshots and maps
- Build video assets, including photo montages, pre-taped interviews, SOTs and B-roll
- Be creative, visualize new ideas and implement them
- Exceptional editorial and production skills
- Knowledge of TV and radio control room operations, including fundamentals of broadcast switchers and graphics
- Audio and Video editing experience, including proficiency with Adobe Audition and Adobe Premiere
- Experience working with high-profile talent and guests
- Ability to write accurate news copy and headlines quickly
- Proficiency with newsroom software systems such as ENPS, and agility with Windows
- Knowledge of lighting, audio, graphics and studio blocking
- Availability to work weekends
- Ability to adjust working schedule as business needs require
