Overview
Aimé Leon Dore is looking for a Product Development Assistant, Knits to join our team in New York, New York, reporting directly to Director of Product Development, knits. This position will support the C&S knit and fully fashioned knit apparel development process from concept through production hand-off. This role is ideal for someone early in their career who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and eager to learn the full lifecycle of garment development within a premium fashion environment.
This position plays a key role in keeping samples, timelines, and communication flowing between Design, Technical Design, Raw Materials, and Production.
Responsibilities- Support the knit product development process from concept through production hand-off
- Track and update sample status, comments, and approvals across internal systems
- Assist with vendor communication, sample follow-ups, and data entry
- Maintain WIP, BOMs, sample charts, and approval updates
- Organize submit libraries, including lab dips, wash references, artwork strike offs, and related approvals
- Partner with Design, Technical Design, Raw Materials, and Production to ensure accurate data and timelines
- Assist with research on fabrics, trims, and new suppliers
- 1–3 years of experience in Product Development, Production, or Design Operations
- Interest in knit apparel and garment construction
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Proficiency in PLM (Backbone a plus), Adobe Illustrator, and Microsoft Office
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
Salary Range: $55,000 - $65,000
