Overview
Havas Media Network North America, the Media Experience agency, is looking for a Media Planning Director to join the Planning Team, part of our global community of 10,000 team members who are focused on using Meaningful Media to make a meaningful difference to brands, businesses, and people.
The Planning Director is responsible for delivering outstanding media planning strategies and execution across their accounts. This role requires a deep understanding of media planning strategies & tactics, ensuring that all plans are flexible and account for nuances in context & budget. They are thinking of the entire journey and all touchpoints within their responses to brief. They are refining their storytelling style with every presentation.
The Planning Director sets a high standard of excellence, ensuring that media planning tools are utilized effectively and that media owners are engaged upstream to enhance planning efforts. They work collaboratively with internal specialist teams to drive innovation and identify gaps in clients’ content ecosystems.
A Day in the Life- Develop media planning models aligned to S/VPs communication strategies
- Passionate about driving effectiveness from media planning
- Experts in media math and technical planning
- Comfortable using different media tactics to optimize effective planning
- Develops clear, smart, evidence-based recommendations
- Thinks holistically about the consumer journey and broader ecosystem
- Develops and manages budget strategies, ensuring accountability in budget execution
- Collaborates with client leads and client account managers to keep clients informed and ensure project progress
- Shows holistic and well thought out solutions using all touchpoints in the ecosystem
- Manages learning agendas and innovation agendas
- Demonstrates creative progressive thinking
- Contributes to case studies that showcase exceptional media planning work
- Collaborates with internal teams and cross agency partners
- Promotes data-led media planning with the team using Converged and NMI
- Proactively introduces clients to new innovation and opportunities
- Vocal and opinionated in meetings with clients, creating trust and adding value
- Clear and confident presentation of your work
- Participates in agency culture
- Coaches and trains junior team members on media planning tools and methodologies
- Oversees the development and performance of the team, ensuring accountability and high standards
- Creates a team culture of feedback and continuous improvement
- Stays at the forefront of industry trends, integrating fresh thinking into media plans

We are looking for candidates with at least 6 years of HCP planning experience for this role.
