We are seeking a Freelance Production Assistant to join the FOX Weather team! The Freelance Production Assistant is an aspiring news producer who has a passion for weather and an eagerness to work in this exciting industry. You excel in communication, embrace learning opportunities, and exhibit excellent teamwork. You thrive in a high‑paced environment, enjoy collaborating with a team, and are eager to advance within our company.

• Actively pitch a variety of stories from breaking weather news to features on weather‑related themes
• Assist our production team in building segments, managing breaking news, and handling long‑term projects
• Find the best sound bites, video, and graphics to create compelling segments
• Write banners, edit video, and occasionally book guests, all while quickly responding to breaking weather news
• Quickly identify strong user‑generated content from multiple sources, ensuring the best elements are incorporated into FOX Weather coverage

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field, or equivalent experience
• Previous internship or job experience in related roles
• Passion for the weather domain; previous experience is a plus
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and handle multiple tasks effectively
• Proficient with social media
• Exceptional communication skills to work in collaboration with team members

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $17.79‑22.00 per hour.
