The Sports Information Student Assistant supports the Athletic Communications Office in the coverage and promotion of Keuka College’s intercollegiate athletic programs. This role provides hands‑on experience in sports media, communications, and game‑day operations. Students will assist with tasks such as statistical entry and reporting, photography, video production, graphic design, and digital content creation. While most work takes place during home contests, additional administrative and media‑related duties are assigned as needed.
Scheduled hours are dependent upon Athletics Schedule.
- Compile statistics and create game‑day programs for NCAA athletic contests.
- Operate independently at events, managing tasks without direct supervision.
- Assist with writing, statistical input, photography, and videography for home games and athletics events.
- Support digital content creation, including social media graphics, game recaps, highlight videos, and promotional materials.
- Contribute to office duties and sports research to support the overall efficiency of the department.
- Ensure all tasks are completed in accordance with NCAA, conference, and institutional guidelines.
- Always Represent Keuka College in a professional and courteous manner.
- Attend all required training and staff meetings.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with FERPA regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Sports Information Director or athletics leadership.
- Weekend and evening availability is required, based on the athletics schedule.
- Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
- May be required to work outdoors in inclement weather on occasion.
- Must be a current Keuka College student in the traditional undergraduate on‑campus program.
- Must be eligible for a Federal or Keuka College Work‑Study award.
- General understanding of sports, rules, and statistics is essential.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Previous experience in communications, journalism, photography, video editing, or athletics is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar design/video platforms is a plus.
- Able to work independently and within a team setting with professionalism and discretion.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and adaptability in fast‑paced environments.
- Sensitivity to the needs of a diverse campus community.
