The Production department works through the Program Office team to bring artist and creator visions to life by providing audio, visual and venue production support. There are multiple events each day; events can include music and orchestral productions, visual presentations, special functions, lectures, conferences, and meetings.

About Your CompensationCompensation for this position starts at $16.00/Hour and, with demonstrated experience and qualifications, candidates may earn up to $19.50/Hour.
About Your Work Day- Unlock the building and prepare for sweepers arrival at 7:30 am.
- Check stage level and dressing rooms for readiness (cleanliness, signage).
- Check trash pick-ups are happening consistently.
- Check towels/linens are ready for daily pick-up. Stow clean towels/linens when delivered.
- Check coffee supplies and communicate necessary reorders as needed.
- Instruct sweepers in proper methods for clocking in/out.
- Supervise sweepers in cleaning public areas while being aware of neighboring houses and potential noise impacts.
- Collect lost and found items from sweepers.
- Make sure that sweepers properly stow equipment before clocking out.
- Assist Stage Crew as necessary and as directed by Amphitheater Production Manager.
- Make a daily run to Lost and Found Office, PAVA Office, and Post Office.
- Report any maintenance or safety concerns to Amphitheater Production Manager, so proper action can be taken in a timely manner.
- Check housekeeping supplies and communicate needs.
- Communicate to the Amphitheater Production Manager any concerns/suggestions regarding supplies, equipment, and/or personnel.
- Assist Hospitality Coordinator and Caterer when needed.
- Review sweeper timesheets and personal timesheets weekly with Amphitheater Production Manager so they can be processed in a timely manner.
- Must be able to safely operate a company golf cart (minimum age is 18).
- Must be able to lift 50lbs.
- All other duties as assigned.
Chautauqua Institution’s Referral Bonus Program is a talent solution to recruit, develop, and retain a diverse workforce that encompasses all the skills and experience necessary to deliver on our goals and objectives. Chautauqua Institution will provide a $500 referral bonus (less taxes) for active employees referring a new candidate who is hired and remains employed for at least 90-days from the first physical date of work.
In the case of seasonal positions working less than 6-months, the new candidate must remain actively employed for at least 30-days from the first physical date of work and until the closing date of the season. The closing date of the season is the last Sunday in August.
Chautauqua Institution and Chautauqua Hotel Company offer flexible schedules, full and part-time, for seasonal employment during summer operations starting annually each June and concluding in August. Seasonal employment may be available earlier (pre-season) and beyond season (post-season) based on business needs and candidate availability. Schedules typically include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays as a requirement.
While you will confirm your final schedule with management at the time of an interview and offer of employment, you should generally anticipate the following schedule options for this position:
Will be scheduled to work Monday through Saturday, 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., for an average of 40 hours/week. Scheduled hours will include evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business needs. Must be available to start June 6th, 2025 (The Amphitheater Manager will determine pre-season hours).
