This role is for a contemporary fashion company that has a small team that is driven with hard work, thoughtful practices, true collaboration and relentless passion and dedication.
Title:Designer Essential Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Conduct seasonal trend research including color, print, fabrics and trims
- Assist with concept development and mood board creation
- Responsible for designing and developing well-thought out styles into all womenswear categories for each collection
- Prepare tech packs to pass to Technical Design and participate in all communication and follow up related to each style in partnership with the team.
- Update cut tickets / sketches according to changes during development process.
- Manage development / sourcing and execution of trims and embellishments.
- Create embellishment layouts / mock-ups
- Research new construction techniques, trim ideas and source accordingly
- Collaborate on color and print allocation of styles for each collection
- Submit L/D Requests to factories
- Recolor prints digitally according to design direction and create print placement mock-ups for factories to follow
- Participate in all fittings and provide thoughtful insight from proto stage to PP.
- Work closely with Production and Technical Design team to ensure quality garments and timely production
- Communicate daily with overseas factories from development through production accordingly regarding fabrics, trims, colors and design details
- Maintain development and production timeline.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience:
- Degree in Apparel Design, preferred.
- At least 2-3 years full-time work experience in womenswear, required.
- Drive the department forward through thoughtful input and fresh ideas
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
- Excellent time management and self-motivation.
- Strong planning and highly organizational skills with a sense of priority for deadlines and attention to detail.
- Understanding of pattern making, draping, garment construction, and factory production, required.
- Ability to work in a fast paced & small team environment.
- Ability to follow direction accurately, with a sense of urgency
- Expert proficiency using MS office:
Excel, Word, and Adobe:
Illustrator, Photoshop - Detail oriented and ability to multi-task competing priorities to meet deadline.

- Collaborator and ability to work Cross-functionally with Technical Design, Production, Wholesale, E-commerce and Marketing Team
- Strong time management and organizational skills to establish priorities and meet specific timelines
