MK Media is on the hunt for a Coordinating Producer to join The Nerve with Maureen Callahan, one of the fastest‑growing shows on You Tube and podcast platforms, currently reaching a monthly audience of 10 million and climbing. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about pop culture, breaking news, true crime and celebrity drama. As a Coordinating Producer, you will be deeply involved in every step of the production process, from technical setup to content creation.
This role offers the chance to collaborate with an experienced production team to deliver high‑quality, compelling content to our audience. If you thrive in fast‑paced environments, love pop culture, and have well‑rounded experience in media production, we want to hear from you.
Location: Hybrid/New York, NY
What You’ll Do:- Collaborate with show host and production team on show topics; work side‑by‑side with the senior producer to ensure every aspect of production runs smoothly—from planning and prepping to execution.
- Element gathering / content creation:
Identify and prepare compelling visual assets to support show segments and digital content. Knowledge of Canva and iMovie preferred. - Research / story pitches:
Conduct thorough research, gather materials, and provide valuable insights to support the production team. - Guest booking:
Pitch new guests, handle / maintain correspondence with The Nerve’s regular guests, providing all relevant show information prior to appearance, such as topics, show link or studio info. - Social media:
Ability to write clip titles/descriptions and schedule across show platforms:
You Tube, Instagram, Tik Tok, X. - Monitor social media and email inquiries related to the show to ensure fan engagement.
- Media experience:
Previous experience in radio, podcasting, or television news is a must. - Pop culture enthusiast: A passion for all things pop culture, breaking news, and true crime/celebrity justice.
- Self‑starter:
Able to work independently, take initiative, and thrive in a fast‑paced environment. - Strong writing and communication skills:
Clear, concise, and professional writing for scripts, show notes, and social media. - Adaptable schedule:
Must be flexible and able to work around host's schedule for taping new episodes. - Journalism background:
An understanding of journalism and fair use guidelines is a plus.
