• Craft well‑researched, engaging, and informative stories that highlight achievements, innovations, and challenges within the Black tech and entrepreneurial ecosystem.
• Monitor the tech landscape and social media platforms to identify emerging trends, breaking news, and noteworthy events for our audience.
• Develop thought‑provoking questions to interview professionals, entrepreneurs, innovators, and thought leaders within the Black tech community.
• Pitch and develop original content ideas showcasing unique perspectives, deep dives into tech topics, or compelling feature pieces.
• File stories and maintain well‑organized records of sources, references, and research materials to facilitate editorial collaboration.

• Education: B.A. in journalism, communication, or a related field.
• Required Experience:
  • 1‑2 years of experience writing and reporting for a digital news publication.
• Preferred Experience:
  • Background in news writing, editing, or journalism.
• Technologies: Fluent in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Asana, and/or comparable project management suites.
• Additional Qualifications:
  • Independent, entrepreneurial self‑starter comfortable with high responsibility.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and transforming unorganized/complex data into structured, insight‑oriented solutions.
  • High-energy, company‑first, positive attitude; motivated to work hard in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills; outgoing and sociable; willing to wear multiple hats.
  • Naturally detail-oriented with an obsessive need to document and communicate findings.
  • Knowledgeable of tech, business, and innovation news, especially related to the Black community.

• This is a contracted remote, U.S.
