Role DescriptionThis is a full-time on-site role for a Site Safety Manager located in the New York City Metropolitan Area. The Site Safety Manager will be responsible for ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, conducting safety training, and implementing Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) protocols. Additional duties include conducting accident investigations, identifying workplace hazards, and working closely with project teams to maintain a safe work environment.
- This position will report directly to the Safety Director
- Implement and enforce applicable construction site safety programs in accordance with all federal, state, local, laws as well as and our companies more stringent standards.
- Oversee and manage all site activities that relate to safe work practices. Review all construction/engineering designs and plans.
- Ensure our subcontractors perform all required actions and duties as it relates to system safety compliance:
- fire/ life safety
- safety training
- required safety certification
- emergency procedures, plans and drills
- any other environmental safety/risk management compliance.
- Safety/security implications related to ongoing operations.
- Perform daily safety inspection report audits and related testing and verification of operational safety readiness.
- Coordination of Safety related items with the Construction Superintendent
- Familiarity with and environmental regulations and guidelines and workplace hazard controls and ability to provide recommendations to reduce potential workplace hazards.
- This position requires the ability early morning (A.M.) and late shift (P.M.) work hours, including weekends and holidays.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- A valid NYC Department of Buildings (DOB) Licensed Site Safety Manager
- A valid FDNY Certificate of Fitness S56
- Past experience and/or familiarity with major building construction development projects.
- Competent to instruct and provide training/instruction on-site personnel as needed.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
- NYC DOB licensed Construction Superintendent
- Successful completion of the 30-hour OSHA Construction Safety & Health (29 CFR 1926) Course
