Location: New York

Bound Construction is a dynamic Construction Management firm seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent for a New York-based role with projects throughout the Tri-State area. Candidates should have over 5 years of construction experience, with expertise in interiors, mechanical, civil, or utility services.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Oversee all on-site construction activities to ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Manage and coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and site personnel to maintain workflow and productivity.
  • Conduct daily site inspections to monitor progress, safety compliance, and adherence to project specifications.
  • Maintain accurate daily logs, progress reports, and other documentation for on-site activities.
  • Proactively identify and resolve issues that may arise during construction.
  • Ensure strict compliance with safety regulations and company policies; conduct regular toolbox talks and safety meetings.
  • Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and other project documents.
  • Schedule and supervise critical path activities, ensuring efficient utilization of labor and materials.
  • Collaborate with project managers to maintain project schedules and budgets, providing regular updates on on-site progress.
  • Facilitate coordination between trades, ensuring work is sequenced and completed efficiently.
  • Manage site logistics, including material deliveries, equipment allocation, and site organization.
  • Conduct pre-installation meetings to ensure all parties understand the scope, schedule, and quality expectations.
  • Monitor and enforce quality control standards, ensuring all work meets project requirements and client expectations.

Skills and Abilities
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage diverse teams on-site.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
  • Effective communication skills for interacting with clients, subcontractors, and project teams.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure project accuracy and completeness.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with OSHA standards and regulations.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification is required; additional safety certifications (e.g., First Aid, CPR) are a plus.
  • Proven ability to enforce safety protocols and foster a culture of safety on-site.
  • Proficiency in Procore, Microsoft Office Suite, and scheduling software such as MS Project or Primavera P6 is a plus.
Required Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management is preferred.
  • Experience in lieu of a degree is acceptable.
  • 5-7 years of on-site construction management experience.
  • Experience in interiors, mechanical, civil, or utility services.
  • Experience with healthcare construction projects is highly preferred.
