Overview

Gallagher Bassett Technical Services is seeking an Onsite Safety Professional to work on construction sites in the New York City metropolitan area. This is a highly energetic company that offers competitive benefits.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a passionate and proactive safety professional to ensure that safety and health procedures are followed on the construction project. Pay: $30-$45/hr depending on experience.

Hours:

This is an as needed position - hours may vary.

• Act as the on-site Safety Consultant to assist in improving safety performance on construction and/or demolition projects.
• Collect and maintain copies of Subcontractor Safety Programs in the jobsite field office.
• Perform new worker safety orientations on site and maintain a written record of orientations; implement a Hardhat sticker program if approved by the Client.
• Verify and document onsite subcontractor safety representatives/competent persons.
• Coordinate regular Project Safety Meetings and maintain minutes or other records.
• Collect weekly toolbox talk meeting minutes from Subcontractor Safety Representatives/Competent Persons.
• Inspect areas and items on the jobsite to ensure compliance with Federal, State and Local Standards and the project’s Loss Control Program; maintain a written log of inspections and note corrective actions and their dates.
• Conduct comprehensive accident investigations as needed, including interviews, photographs and written reporting.
• Coordinate loss control inspections with insurance brokers, carriers, and regulatory officials as required.
• Remain on the job during work progress and be available for overtime, shifts, nights, weekends and holidays as needed.

• Minimum of five years of experience in/with the construction field
• 62 hour supervisor SST card
• 40 hour site safety manager course
• 32 hour supported scaffold
• 32 hour suspended scaffold
• S56 CSFSM certificate
• English/Spanish speaking a plus

The base salary range represents the anticipated low end and high end of the range for this position and will be influenced by factors such as experience, education, market/geography, and hours.
