Overview

Our client is an ENR Top 100 construction firm with a strong interiors and renovation platform in New York City. They are seeking an experienced Estimator to take ownership of interior construction estimates across a diverse and active project pipeline.

This role sits at the center of preconstruction and partners closely with operations, clients, and trade partners from pursuit through project closeout.

• Lead the estimating process on interior projects totaling $5M to $100M annually
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for tenant fit-outs, renovations, and complex interior buildouts
• Develop accurate budgets through all design phases, including architectural, structural, and all trades
• Review drawings, specifications, and project documents to clearly define scope, materials, and labor
• Create detailed scope and analysis sheets for subcontractor bid leveling
• Solicit, analyze, and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids to ensure full scope coverage
• Perform subcontractor bid reviews and descoping to confirm compliance with drawings, specifications, schedule, logistics, insurance, and quality standards
• Identify risks, gaps, and opportunities, and provide value engineering recommendations
• Ensure estimates are complete and aligned with client financial objectives
• Lead project kickoff and closeout meetings to support smooth handoff to operations and accounting
• Stay engaged through construction to support RFIs, change pricing, ticket pricing, and subcontract execution
• Participate in client meetings to review pricing, resolve issues, and support value engineering efforts
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, architects, engineers, and internal teams
• Contribute to team collaboration, mentorship, and the continued growth of the estimating department

• Bachelor’s degree preferred, construction management, engineering, quantity surveying or architecture a plus
• Equivalent construction experience will be considered
• 5+ years of construction experience within commercial or interior construction
• Must be willing to work on site daily from the Manhattan office

Base salary range: $130,000 to $180,000

Eligible for discretionary bonus based on individual and company performance
