The Project Engineer assists the Project Manager by tracking and maintaining records associated with submittals, costs, deliveries, payroll, and safety communications at the job site.

• Prepare and deliver weekly Toolbox Talks, daily safety huddles, and maintain all related records.
• File One Call Center requests to protect utilities.
• Maintain a retrievable filing system for the Hazardous Communication Program (MSDS).
• Maintain the Project Safety Manual, conduct periodic site safety inspections, and record findings.
• Track injuries and maintain safety inspection records.

• Perform daily quantity reviews with the Superintendent and Job Foreman.
• Enter daily quantities into the system and file daily sheets.
• Track work completion against project plans.
• Conduct monthly review of estimates with the Superintendent/Project Manager.
• Maintain a file of all change orders and notify management of anticipated overruns/underruns.
• Submit monthly estimates with subcontractor payment sheets to Accounting after owner approval.
• Request Final Estimate with each monthly estimate for State DOT projects.
• Review and approve material and supplier invoices regularly.

• Maintain general correspondence file and log.
• Maintain Shop Drawing Log.
• Maintain Subcontractor Daily Log.
• Maintain Delivery Log.
• Track major material deliveries versus paid quantities.
• Develop and update Submittal Log.

• Enter daily payroll information by task and assist in productivity tracking.
• Track subcontractors via the Subcontractor Daily Log.
• Submit copies of the Subcontractor Log to Payroll monthly and notify Area Managers of delays.

• Maintain job records and track job codes using the Phase Code System.
• Respond to RFIs to the owner.
• Assist in purchasing job materials to ensure proper quantities.
• Review project plans and specifications to ensure work is completed correctly.
• Develop project look‑ahead schedules.
• Review and prepare submittal packages.
• Review subcontractor submittal packages for accuracy.

• B.S. Degree in Engineering with 2+ years of related experience.
• Experience in heavy construction (site work, roads, or environmental).
• Capable of meeting deadlines, self‑motivated, detail oriented, with excellent interpersonal and follow‑through skills.
• Availability for weekend/night work as required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to perform effectively in a fast‑paced environment and interface with all levels of personnel.

Compensation $80,000 to $95,000 annually
