Our client is a well‑established General Contractor and Construction Manager specializing in corporate interiors projects throughout New York City. They are looking to add a skilled Cost Manager to their growing team to oversee budgeting, cost control, and financial analysis across their portfolio of projects.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate project information to ensure cost alignment with design intent, local codes, and contractual obligations.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, forecasts, and financial reports to ensure cost efficiency.
  • Lead the bid leveling process with subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing and cost‑effectiveness.
  • Monitor construction costs throughout the project lifecycle, identifying and mitigating financial risks.
  • Work closely with project managers, estimators, and finance teams to maintain cost controls and ensure budget adherence.
  • Analyze variances between actual and estimated costs, providing strategic recommendations for cost savings.
  • Oversee procurement strategies to optimize material costs and subcontractor expenses.
  • Ensure compliance with contract terms, financial regulations, and internal cost‑management policies.
  • Prepare capital expenditure reports and present financial insights to senior management.
  • Support financial closeout, including final cost analysis and reporting.
Qualifications
  • 4+ years of experience in construction cost management, estimating, or financial controls within corporate or commercial interiors projects.
  • Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, contract management, and financial analysis in construction.
  • Familiarity with construction procedures, building codes, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to commute to job sites throughout NYC.
