Base pay range

Responsibilities
  • Review and analyze architectural drawings, specifications, and project documents
  • Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs for materials, labor, and equipment
  • Develop comprehensive cost estimates for construction projects ranging from [insert project size/type]
  • Utilize estimating software and databases to ensure accuracy and efficiency
  • Create and maintain historical cost data and pricing databases
Project Planning & Coordination
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors
  • Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to gather project information
  • Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing
  • Identify potential risks, value engineering opportunities, and constructability issues
  • Prepare bid proposals and supporting documentation within specified time frames
Process Improvement
  • Contribute to refining our estimating processes and procedures
  • Implement best practices to improve accuracy and efficiency
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of construction methods, materials, and market conditions
  • Participate in post-project reviews to validate estimates and improve future accuracy
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field, OR
  • Minimum 3-5 years of construction estimating experience
  • Proven track record of preparing accurate estimates for similar project types
Technical Skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and database management
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts
  • Understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards
  • Knowledge of local building codes and regulations
