Chief Estimator

Foshee Construction Co., LLC is a leading utility and excavation contractor serving Lake County, FL and the greater Central FL area. We are seeking a Chief Estimator to join our dynamic team.

As Chief Estimator you will bring extensive experience in construction estimating and project management to ensure projects are completed within budget while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency. You will lead a team, collaborate closely with office staff, clients, and subcontractors, and deliver accurate estimates that drive project success. This position offers flexibility for remote or hybrid work depending on candidate experience and qualifications.

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, utilizing software for precision and efficiency.
• Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
• Collaborate with project management teams to develop budgets and ensure alignment with project goals.
• Conduct site visits to assess conditions and gather necessary information for accurate estimating.
• Negotiate prices with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best value for the company.
• Monitor project costs throughout the lifecycle to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
• Utilize software for document management and collaboration during the estimating process.
• Provide support in cost control measures and assist in identifying potential risks associated with project budgets.

• Experience estimating underground utility and site development work.
• Proficiency in Heavy Bid (HCSS Programs) and AGTEK software systems for construction estimating.
• Strong understanding of construction management principles and practices.
• Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Exceptional negotiation skills to secure favorable pricing from vendors and subcontractors.
• Familiarity with Bluebeam or similar software for efficient document handling and communication.
• Ability to conduct thorough analysis of construction sites to inform pricing strategies.
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy in cost estimation.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey complex information clearly.
