Overview
This position is located at Child and Youth Services, Fort Drum, New York.
Child Care Fee and IncentivesDirectorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (FMWR), Child and Youth Services (CYS) Employee Childcare Fee:
- Available to MWR CYS Regular and FLEX (working a minimum of 15 hours).
- First Child: 100% childcare fee discount.
- Second and Subsequent Child: 25% childcare fee discount.
- Incentives and bonuses will not be paid.

Duties- Serves as the School Liaison Officer (SLO) with responsibility for the oversight of all installation Child and Youth Services (CYS) issues involving public schools and their relationship to the local military community.
- Functions as an intermediary between and advocate for parents/youth and school administrators. Assesses needs and serves as the focal point for gathering and disseminating information concerning the local schools.
- Works closely with the Youth Education Liaison Services (YELS) Specialist and other CYS staff to successfully integrate CYS initiatives and programs with school resources to meet the needs of parents, students, and educators.
- Serves as a member of the Installation Child and Youth Evaluation Team to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and CYS baseline standards. Ensures program contributes to achieving and maintaining DoD certification.
- Serves as Subject Matter Expert on installation child and youth SLS. Prepares reports, surveys, and briefings for command and installation on matters pertaining to SLS. Procures supplies and equipment to support program goals and objectives.
- Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
- Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
- A one-year probationary period may be required.
- Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
- Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of appointment.
- Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.
2 to include a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation. - The Crime Control Act must be successfully completed and maintained.
- Successful completion of Foundation and Annual CYS Management Training is required.
- Travel to on and off post locations required.
- Must have current health assessment which documents good mental and physical health, freedom from communicable disease, and immunizations IAW current Army and DoD policy to include annual influenza vaccinations.
