Position: KP764 – Full-Time Career Nanny – TriBeCa
Location: New York

Overview

A warm, thoughtful family in Tri Be Ca  is seeking an exceptional, career-oriented nanny for their 20-month-old son. The position is full-time with a guaranteed 40-hour workweek, from Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The family is ideally looking for someone to begin by the end of March at the latest. The parents are highly engaged and hands‑on and are seeking a nanny who is comfortable tag‑teaming with a stay‑at‑home mom and working collaboratively with the parents as a unified caregiving team.

This is not a role where the nanny is expected to “take over” parenting (proxy parent), but rather to support, provide gentle guidance, and data‑driven recommendations that complement the parents’ approach as they actively shape their child’s development. Their son is a bright, curious, and energetic toddler who would benefit from having a caregiver who can balance high engagement with appropriate boundaries and calm regulation.

The family values modern, science‑informed parenting, is open‑minded yet thoughtful, and prefers fundamentals and evidence‑based approaches over trends or fads.

Key Responsibilities

The nanny will be responsible for helping develop and maintain an age‑appropriate schedule, providing developmentally appropriate, engaging care that supports the child’s growth, curiosity, and emotional well‑being. The child is an adventurous eater and follows a consistent sleep routine.

  • Planning and facilitating creative, advanced, and enriching activities such as arts and crafts, reading, cooking projects, outdoor play, logic, and hands‑on learning. It’s important to mention that the child shows a natural inclination towards learning that the parents would like to support – e.g., he knows / can say his name, can identify all primary and secondary colors, can count to five, and is already able to create three‑word sentences and tell simple stories about his day.
  • Engaging the child in constant, meaningful conversation to support language development
  • Supporting sleep routines and navigating developmental sleep regressions with sensitivity
  • Collaborating closely with the parents in a tag‑team caregiving dynamic
  • Accompanying the family on domestic and international travel when requested
  • Supporting transitions as the child enters a 2s program in the fall, including assisting with other household‑related/ childcare duties (these do not extend to general housekeeping)
Qualifications
  • The family is seeking a nanny who is calm, collaborative, and emotionally intuitive, with the stamina to engage an active toddler without being overly high‑energy.
  • Genuinely creative and joyful in planning activities and play
  • Comfortable working closely with a stay‑at‑home parent in a highly involved household
  • Socially balanced—encouraging playdates and peer interaction without forcing socialization
  • Aligned with a modern, science‑informed approach to childcare and development
  • Supportive of breastfeeding and gentle sleep practices
  • Organized, self‑motivated, and proactive within a structured household environment
  • Formal or informal training in early childhood development, early education, or a related field is strongly preferred
Requirements
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. (U.S. passport, Green Card, or EAC required)
  • Passport‑ready and available for domestic and international travel
  • Professional mindset with a serious, long‑term approach to childcare
  • Comfortable working in a well‑organized household
  • Must be respectful of privacy
  • Vaccinated according to New York State guidance for educators (MMR, Polio, Hep B, DTaP, Varicella); must receive annual flu and COVID vaccine, as available.
  • This is a fragrance‑free / fragrance‑sensitive household; no perfume or strongly‑scented products can be worn or used in the home.
  • Driving is a plus, but not required
Note

The family has a chef / meal‑prep service, so no food prep is required.

Salary and Benefits
  • $50+ per hour (commensurate with experience)
  • 2 weeks PTO (10 days)
  • 10 federal holidays (paid at 1.5× if worked)
  • 5 personal/sick days
Additional Benefits
  • Monthly unlimited Metro Card
  • Healthcare stipend
