Business Development Intern - Spring 2026

Boundless is seeking a Business Development Intern with strong writing skills and interest in environmental data and analytics to provide support across our business development activities towards cleantech companies, sustainable brands, and government institutions. This part-time internship will focus on learning business development skills, writing proposals, and providing administrative support to leadership and the research team, while gaining hands-on experience with a growing sustainability data and analytics firm.

The ideal candidate will have strong organizational and writing skills, with an eagerness to learn and thrive in a fast-paced small business environment. The candidate will work closely with Boundless' CEO and with our research and business development teams.

The Business Development Intern can work flexibly between 15-20 hours per week, in-office in New York or remotely, receiving direction and guidance from Boundless leadership and Research teams. This is an unpaid internship, running from March 2026 through May/June 2026 (depending on availability).

Boundless is an industry research and environmental analytics firm that provides objective and actionable information to move investment dollars more quickly toward clean technologies and climate solutions. Our science-based, data-driven approach is grounded in the proven methodology of Life Cycle Assessment. The scores and metrics derived are trustworthy and reliable because they are unbiased and validated by external industry and/or scientific experts.

Boundless has the capabilities to perform rapid (and screening) LCA, LCA consistent with ISO
14040, and Scope 1,2,3 emissions inventories.

Boundless has completed assessments of dozens of cleantech products and projects — ranging from renewable energy, circular economy, HVAC and disinfection technologies, bioenergy and bioproducts, and innovative water and wastewater technologies. Our services include Life Cycle Assessment, Techno-Economic Analysis, Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Footprint projections, and GHG Scenario Analysis, all designed to help companies validate their performance, mitigate risks, differentiate their products, and attract investment.

Responsibilities
  • Supporting Boundless' business development efforts in the US, the UK and Europe.
  • Assist with researching prospective customers and drafting proposals and correspondence.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential opportunities in new markets for Boundless' environmental research and analytics services.
  • Help organize and maintain sales leads and support outreach campaign planning.
  • Gain experience providing operational and administrative support across business functions.
  • Prepare reports and presentations to communicate insights and recommendations.
  • Explore and identify government contract opportunities, assist in composing proposals, and contribute to submission papers.
  • Help maintain organized documentation and operational systems while learning best practices.
  • Collaborate closely with Boundless' senior management and the rest of the Boundless team as required.
Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing Bachelor's or Graduate’s degree with interdisciplinary background combining business/entrepreneurship with technical/environmental/sustainability fields.
  • Demonstrated understanding of business development pipelines.
  • Familiarity with the cleantech industry.
  • Strong research, analytical, and writing skills.
  • Familiarity with or willingness to learn data manipulation using SPSS, SAS, or Excel.
  • Developing critical thinking skills with attention to detail and interest in learning data visualization.
  • Interest in entrepreneurship and developing business acumen.
  • Ability to multitask, to complete tasks on tight deadlines, and close attention to details and timelines.
  • Contributes to the team effort by accomplishing other related duties as required.
  • Self-motivated, resourceful, you have a positive attitude and you are easy to work with.
  • The candidate will be able to own projects and acquire a strong experience in supporting a fast-growing business across key business development functions.
