This position plays an integral part in keeping the Brooklyn facility supplied with raw & packaging materials and co-packed finished goods. The position will support the Brooklyn facility by ordering and scheduling materials to meet production schedules and forecasted demand. This position will administrate purchase orders, manage inventory levels and execute additional work as assigned by their manager.
Essential DutiesExpedites/de-expedites materials in response to changes in the production schedule. Maintains purchase orders and other system information as needed.
Coordinates/tracks imported product by maintaining the import management database, managing import documents, processing wire transfers, managing FDA/USDA/U.S. Customs entry into the U.S., monitoring product movement to warehouses.
Coordinates/manages claims, rejections, and damaged product (vendor, warehouse, quality, and marine).
Maintains records related to imports in compliance the record retention policies established by the organization.
Coordinates the exchange of information between internal and external partners to facilitate improved response time for moving imported materials from external locations into the production facility. Internal partners may but not limited to QA, Production, Supply Chain, Logistics. External partners may but not limited to Customs Broker, Ext. Warehouse, Ext. Logistics, Sampling and/or testing associates.
Enters purchase orders for raw material suppliers and service providers as either directed by Procurement Management or through established forecast/contracts.
Reconciles material and service provider invoice variances.
Supports initiatives for new product development, cost savings, and cost analysis. Coordinates information needed from R&D, operations, marketing, and other functional areas.
Creates and maintains various reports and presentations (weekly/monthly).
Maintains and researches supply, demand, and pricing data for various commodities.
Bachelor's degree preferred, supply chain, agri-business, finance, or related experience.
Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in an ingredient sourcing or procurement role with direct responsibility for supplier negotiation, contract and vendor management and pricing/costs decisions required.
Knowledge of commodities buying raw ingredient procurement is strongly preferred. Consumer Packaged Goods experience required.
Ability to manage/prioritize multiple projects and tasks.
Must be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and highly organized.
JDE experience is a plus.
Strong analytical, math, and quantitative skills.
Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
$57,500 - $75,000 Salaried Non-exempt (full-time)
