Position: 2026 Graduate Intern Analyst / Auditor
Location: New York

Responsibilities

  • Support project teams and management in performing various analytical tasks.
  • Collect, review, and summarize information on diverse research topics using web-based and physical sources (e.g., union contracts, internal asset maintenance records).
  • Interact with internal and external personnel to obtain or exchange information, including occasional visits to MTA sites.
  • Draft accounts of interviews and incorporate analysis results into final work papers.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions of proposed methodology and findings.
  • Verbally communicate results of work with senior staff and managers.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Current enrollment and good academic standing in a master’s degree program in a field related to governmental operations and oversight, such as public administration, urban planning, business, mathematics, economics, the social sciences, or a related discipline.
  • Ability to plan and organize the timely completion of assigned research or analyses with excellent judgment, writing, grammar, oral and communication skills, and the proven ability to explain information verbally in a collegial team setting.
  • Demonstrated analytical, communication, and critical‑thinking skills, impartial judgment, and research aptitude.
  • Ability to visit MTA locations, observe operations, and conduct meetings with agency officials and personnel.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Position eligible for hybrid teleworking with approval by the Executive Deputy Inspector General/Audit.
