What you will do:
  • Learn about Supply Chain Operations, Logistics and Procurement and how these disciplines support 600 employees who manage and maintain over 100 buildings on 88 acres that are home to 30,000 people.
  • Become a Buyer. Help find and buy things that other people and departments need to do their jobs and solve problems for our residents.
  • Find, order and receive things that make living in our communities better, stronger, more beautiful.
  • Support our Manager of Procurement and our Manager of Inventory Control in special projects that will help them provide even better service to our internal customers.
  • Participate in a weekly leadership development program designed to develop talent by elevating the next generation of leaders through education, collaboration, and exposure to how each element of the organization functions.
  • Meet with an assigned mentor on a bi-weekly basis to discuss job performance and future career goals.
  • Collaborate with peers on a Capstone Project - Over the course of the internship, interns will take on a real business challenge, build a capstone project around it, and present your innovative solution to leaders across the company.
  • Other procurement & inventory control-related tasks as needed.
What you should have:
  • A rising College Senior currently completing a degree in the Procurement, Supply Chain, or Business Operations fields or a related field to the internship position.
  • The ability to connect with others to keep the team aligned and focused.
  • An analytical ability to collect and use information to solve complex problems.
  • The discipline and willingness to do what needs to be done.
  • A love for doing what others won’t and solving difficult problems.
  • A desire to grow and take on ever increasing responsibility.
  • Experience with procurement & inventory control
  • Some familiarity with Procurement, Vendor Management and/or Supply Chain Operations and their importance in supporting customers/residents, team members and organizations.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment
  • Doing any, or all of that, in a multi-family environment would be good too.
