Location: New York

An aerospace company in the Coxsackie, NY area is looking to hire a Buyer. Please see details below:

Work Model: fully on-site 5 days per week

Compensation: up to $80,000 base plus discretionary bonus

Role Summary

The Buyer is responsible for procuring a wide range of materials and services based on internal requests and within assigned purchasing authority. The role focuses on securing optimal pricing, lead times, and inventory levels while maintaining strong supplier relationships and supporting cross‑functional operational needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Forecasts demand and manages purchase orders to ensure on‑time delivery of quality materials in alignment with ERP/MRP requirements.
  • Selects approved suppliers, negotiates pricing and terms, and expedites orders as needed.
  • Communicates with suppliers to resolve delivery, quality, and documentation issues.
  • Maintains accurate purchase order data, including delivery updates.
  • Monitors requisition queues and manages aged or urgent requests.
  • Evaluates supplier performance using KPIs and leads corrective actions with underperforming vendors.
  • Coordinates with warehouse and receiving teams to ensure smooth material flow.
  • Reconciles supplier receipts and invoices with purchase order records.
  • Ensures compliance with all regulated communication and documentation protocols.
  • Validates procurement data accuracy and updates internal reports and metrics.
  • Utilizes internal systems to support process improvements.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of procurement experience, preferably in regulated or compliance‑driven industries.
  • Experience in manufacturing environments, particularly involving complex components, is preferred.
  • Familiarity with QS/ISO standards and ERP/MRP systems.
