Summer Intern – Art

Our internship program is an exciting, semester‑long experience designed to offer talented and motivated students and recent graduates the chance to work with our dynamic team of professionals. Interns will rotate through various departments over the course of the summer, gaining hands‑on experience, mentorship from experienced professionals, and exposure to real‑world projects aligned with their interests and career aspirations.

Program Overview

Internship assignments will rotate through departments such as Account Management, Business Development, Finance, Operations, and People Operations, providing a rich learning experience with cross‑functional exposure.

  • The internship program will run for approximately 12 weeks during the 2026 summer semester, running from May 27 to August 14.
  • The internship’s scheduled hours may range from 30–32 hours per week, Monday through Thursday.
  • The intern(s) will work on site most weeks with some hybrid arrangements as schedules and the needs of the business dictate. In‑office work will take place at UOVO Long Island City in Queens, New York and UOVO Evergreen in Brooklyn, New York.
  • The compensation for this position is $20 per hour.
What You’ll Work On

Interns will be assigned to projects within UOVO’s Account Management, Business Development, Operations, Finance, and People Team, encouraging creativity, partnership, problem‑solving, and execution. Assignments may include:

  • Account Management, Estimates, & International Shipping
    • Shadow Account Management leaders to understand client relationships, daily operations, and cross‑functional collaboration within a fine art logistics environment.
    • Contribute to department‑specific projects, gaining experience in process documentation, research, or operational improvements.
    • Explore the estimates and international shipping functions, learning how pricing, logistics planning, and global shipments support client needs.
    • Participate in cross‑department meetings to understand how teams collaborate to deliver end‑to‑end client solutions.
  • Business Development
    • Learn how UOVO identifies, researches, and engages new clients through prospect research, database management, and sales operations.
    • Support the Business Development team by updating CRM records, tagging client profiles, and organizing prospect data in Net Suite.
    • Conduct a competitive analysis project, including outreach research and data tracking, to help inform market strategy.
    • Gain exposure to sales operations through facility tours, team shadowing, and collaboration with BD team members across regions.
  • Operations
    • Attend internal operations meetings and perform daily admin duties.
    • Introduction to operational workflows, inventory processing, and basic art handling best practices.
    • Complete condition reporting, scheduling strategies, engage in transportation logistics and team communication.
    • Shadow art handlers on site visits.
  • Finance & Billing
    • Gain hands‑on exposure to corporate finance and billing operations, including financial reporting, variance analysis, and budget tracking.
    • Support the Finance team with data extraction and analysis using ERP systems and Excel to understand how financial insights inform business decisions.
    • Learn the fundamentals of treasury operations, including vendor payments, banking relationships, and account reconciliations.
    • Complete a financial analysis project and present findings to Finance leadership, receiving feedback on both technical skills and business acumen.
  • People Team
    • Observe onboarding/offboarding, compliance practices, and policy documentation.
    • Assist with L&D initiatives, explore the LMS, and complete eLearns.
    • Benefits, Payroll & Interviewing
    • Shadow Benefits/Payroll admin; review compliance and support documents.
    • Attend mock interview training, conduct resume screenings, and observe recruiter debriefs.
  • General
    • Capstone Project where intern(s) present to leadership & PoCs.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in business, communications, human resources, the arts, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with Google Suite, MS Windows, Sheets/Excel, and PowerPoint/Slides.
  • Strong communication, writing, and editing skills.
  • A creative, analytical, and entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Interest in the art, fashion, or wine industries is a plus.
