Director, Promotions NYC Hotels

The Director, Promotions NYC Hotels is responsible for leading the strategic direction, execution, and performance of all Nightlife promotional initiatives across Tao Group Hospitality’s Moxy Hotel venues in New York City. This role requires a comprehensive knowledge of nightlife weekly activations and promotional groups in our city‑wide competitors’ venues, drives guest acquisition, strengthens brand presence, and cultivates key relationships to support admissions, revenue growth, and overall venue success.

Serving as both a strategic leader and operational partner, the Director collaborates closely with Marketing, Operations, and Finance to ensure seamless execution of promotional programs while delivering exceptional guest experiences aligned with Tao Group Hospitality standards.

Essential Functions of the Position
  • Establish and maintain strategic relationships with independent promoters, influencers, and key nightlife partners to expand reach and drive attendance.
  • Develop and implement promotional strategies that drive guest traffic, increase revenue, and enhance market visibility across all supported venues.
  • Partner with venue Operations and Security to optimize entry flow, guest experience, and door strategy.
  • Assist with the creation and execution of weekly guest lists, table allocations, and door policies.
  • Administer promoter compensation structures including commissions, cuts, and performance‑based bonuses while ensuring payroll accuracy.
  • Direct promoter scheduling, including tour groups and independent partners, to maximize business opportunities.
  • Set clear performance expectations and lead the team in meeting or exceeding admissions, revenue, and profitability goals.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally on the ideation and execution of marketing campaigns, special events, and brand activations.
  • Analyze performance metrics and market trends to continuously refine promotional strategies and maintain competitive positioning in the New York nightlife landscape.
  • Support venue openings, major events, and high‑profile activations as needed.
  • Assist and/or complete additional tasks as assigned.
Education & Working Knowledge
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive leadership experience in New York City Promotions Management within nightlife, hospitality, or entertainment environments required.
  • Proven success managing high‑performing teams in fast‑paced, high‑volume venues.
  • Deep understanding of the New York City nightlife market with strong industry relationships preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive revenue through innovative promotional strategies and partnerships.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong operational mindset with the ability to balance strategic planning and hands‑on execution.
  • Experience managing budgets, payroll processes, and compensation structures.
  • Experience supporting multi‑venue portfolios or hotel‑based nightlife concepts.
  • Background collaborating with marketing teams on large‑scale campaigns or branded events.
  • Proficient in Windows Microsoft Office, POS systems, Oracle knowledge preferred.
